Deep within the mesmerizing rolling meadows, lived a shepherd boy. His life was essentially pure, and unsophisticated. His only responsibility was mainly to tend to his flock of rams.

Their soft bleating and the murmuring of the breezes across the solo tree on the peak were his constant associates. Day upon day, looking out for his wards imbued in him a feeling of tranquil contentment.

But, there were occasional moments of solitude, when the shepherd boy would long for company. During one such occasion out of sheer tedium, the shepherd boy devised a troublesome plot.

Narratives of wild beasts preying on sheep had been around for a while in the village. So, the boy chose to leveraged this fear and played a joke on the inhabitants.

One afternoon he dashed into the village yelling “Wolf! A wolf is preying on my sheep!” The terrified villagers sprinted up the hills to help website but found nothing threatening.

The boy giggled at the dilemma on their faces. This prank laughed for a couple of more days. But, one day, a real wolf actually come to prey the flock. The shepherd boy dashed for aid screaming “Wolf, Wolf!” But this time, no one responded.

Moreover, it highlights how trust once broken, is hard to earn back. It's a story as relevant today as it was in the past.
